Architectural Family Portraits with Young Children

Tellez-Baker Family

These architectural family portraits with young children were full of energy and adventure, and the urban setting felt like the perfect backdrop for their playful spirit. Over the past few years, we’ve had the honor of photographing Mom and the children during our annual Celebrate Motherhood Event, so this session marked a special milestone, their first family portrait session together with Fletcher and Co. It was such a meaningful way to document their growing family in this beautiful season of life, surrounded by the light and renewal of spring.

The children were so happy to have the freedom to explore… Collecting little flowers and sticks, climbing, running, and simply being themselves without many rules. The laughter, curiosity, and movement of childhood filled every corner of the space, creating the kind of natural moments that can’t be too posed or planned.

It’s sessions like these that remind us why we love what we do. Childhood moves quickly (just like these kiddos), and these in-between moments… The wandering, the discoveries, the quiet smiles shared with Mom and Dad, are the ones that become more meaningful with time. Preserving them now allows these memories to grow richer with every passing year, becoming part of the family’s story for generations to come.

“I chose Fletcher and Co. because I loved their style right away. Their photos feel real and emotional and not overly posed. They feel like actual moments. If you want meaningful, artful images that feel authentic and timeless, you’ll be so glad you did.”

“My only concern was managing a session with three young kids. But Casia and Eric were calm, organized, and incredibly patient. They embraced the energy instead of trying to control it.”

“Beautiful, heartfelt images that truly reflect our family. Casia and Eric have a strong sense of vision, and it shows. They captured both the sweetness and the wildness.”

If you couldn’t tell by now, architectural family portraits, especially those with young, spirited children is truly our favorite. These environments offer the perfect balance of beauty and freedom. The children can safely wander, climb, and explore without the worry of nearby traffic, while the lines, textures, and scale of the buildings create endless opportunities for striking compositions. The structures also cast pockets of soft shade that give us welcome relief from the desert sun, allowing us to work with beautiful, dramatic light while the kids simply enjoy being themselves.
