Just as their session was winding down he started to get sleepy, very sleepy, so I asked Austin if she would hold him close, rock him and then the magic happened.
In all the years in business I can count on one hand where a little one fell asleep during a session. It’s a running joke around here (and something you’ll hear me say often) that many babies and children have fomo when they experience our studio. Even the newborns are wide awake. I actually welcome it because it’s rare to capture those precious new eyes open and curious. Everyone enjoys their time in this serene space, where they feel safe, loved and there is no pressure to perform. I adore the silly, energetic children… But also give me all the sleepy babies.
“As always thank you so much for such a wonderful experience. I will cherish these pictures forever and remember the whole process fondly!”

This is about the time where little A was winding down. Being able to recognize their emotional and body cues is very important. Never do I want to extend a session past someone’s limit. Instead I see how they are feeling and what they are comfortable with. We all decided to see if he would settle when being rocked and soothed in his mother’s arms. In a matter of minutes the magic of sleep created some of the most beautiful imagery; An experience that mom and myself will never forget.
