And often, that looks a lot different than you imagined it (and usually, when you don’t expect it).

Here is the Wagner family’s story on how Major came into their lives…

We raised two dogs when our children were little kiddos, Sedona – a big yellow Lab! And Fresca- a tiny Bichon Poodle. Those years were a blur and raising dogs and babies was not easy, but SO much fun! Dogs add such a sense of joy to the home and are truly such a wonderful part of life.

Ever since Fresca passed away about 5 years ago, something has been missing.

Who could we take cuddle naps with?

Who could we play with when we needed a stress release?

Who would be our buddy when we felt lonely?

After a particularly challenging December for our family, it seemed the time was right to find a new family member to love on again. Our son Grant was the leader for the puppy search. He researched and read about all different kinds of breeds, ultimately landing on a Cavapoo – A King Charles Cavalier and a Poodle mix. When Grant and I went to meet a few new puppies, we took one look at Major and knew he was the one – fetching the squeaky ball and bringing it right back, looking at us with those big “will you love me?!” eyes. Within five minutes of meeting him he was the one.

We are lucky that Major is part of our family now. Bring on the cuddle naps!!!

Receiving a message like this just melts my heart:

“Major has already changed and grown so much! And it’s funny I really don’t have that many photos of him as a tiny tiny puppy and I just told my mom the other day – oh my gosh I didn’t take enough major photos as a puppy… and she said – well good thing we have Casia’s photos! And I breathe a sigh of relief immediately! These photos are going to be so special to our family forever and ever.” – Avery
