This beachside couples portrait session at Terranea Resort was a relaxed, heartfelt tribute to their adventurous spirit and the deep bond they share. It was a beautiful reminder of the power of connection, the importance of chosen family, and the joy found in celebrating both the big milestones and the quiet, meaningful moments in between.

Terranea Resort offers such a variety of experiences and stunning landscapes that you instantly feel transported to a private oasis. The coastal walking trail on the Palos Verdes Peninsula is dotted with beautiful lookout points, and we found ourselves completely immersed, taking in the lush vegetation and the scenic moments leading down to the cove.

With a quiet ease and deep familiarity, the couple wandered the rocky shoreline, a place that holds countless memories for them. It felt like their own hidden stretch of coast, tucked away from the world, where the tide whispered and time slowed. Visiting on a weekday gifted us the rare feeling of solitude, as if the beach had opened just for them.

“It was a fun day, and captured so many wonderful moments just strolling our neighborhood, visiting the harbor, hanging out in our back yard, and wandering through the lush grounds of one of our favorite local resorts. We are beyond in love with the final images.”

Portraits of furry family members are some of our absolute favorites—they bring such personality to a frame, as if they’re gazing straight into your soul… while also silently questioning why you’re holding a camera instead of a treat.

During a quiet moment in the backyard while we were photographing, a distant siren from an emergency vehicle echoed down the road. Almost instinctively, OB—Joe and April’s sweet dog, began to softly howl along. It was the gentlest, most endearing sound, and we were lucky enough to capture it on video. We later shared it with Joe and April as a small, unexpected keepsake from the day.

“For the last 10 years I have worked with Casia and Eric who are warm, genuine, and easy-going. As an art director, I am typically on the opposite side of the camera lens and they are able to make you feel so comfortable. The variety we captured in one day was astounding. We are so grateful for their time traveling to California, their talent and friendship.”
